The duplex house plan has a split level design layout considering modern compact urban living which is 15’x40’ west-facing G+1. The overall area is 600 sq. ft. on the ground floor. The layout includes features that enhance the practicality and lifestyle catering needs of the home owners. From the ground floor, there is a 2’ utility space for household chores along with a parking garage (13’8” x 19’5”) facilitating hassle free vehicular movements at the site. Vastu consideration is met with the main entrance being located at the northwest. There is an internal stairway with southwest-north to south-north direction going from the first to second floor acting as a bridge between the two levels. Central living hall (7’2” x 10’6”) located on the first floor borders causal dining area (south-west) where (6’x6') is positioned making them the most social spaces in the unit. Accessible common bathroom (6' x 4”) to the southwest corner completes the ensemble on this level.

 

The first floor constitutes a practical layout for approximately 570 sq. ft. of usable space. It accommodates a 2’ utility strip and a 6’ balcony that provides both outdoor and air circulation. The floor plan is segregated into two distinct sections—a bi-level duplex style. The eastern section includes a northwestern entrance, a living room (7’2” x 10’6”), and an open kitchen located in the southeast (6’ x 6”). A common bathroom in the southwest corner (6’ x 4”) serves all patrons of this section. The western section has a northeast entrance, a large living area (13’8” x 9’3) scrub a dub kitchen in the southeast, and southwest bedroom (9’2” x 9’) with an adjoining bathroom (4’ x 6’’) making for a private quarters.

 

These features make the most of the available space while ensuring comfort and fluidity. The division into two separate zones on the upper level creates possibilities for renting, housing guests, or accommodating multiple families. It ensures adequate privacy and convenience while providing compact footprint. The combination of west-facing structure with windows allows for increased sunlight exposure and air circulation throughout the entirety of the structure.

 

To summarize, the design plan was created with simplicity in mind with emphasis on usability and directional planning per vastu principles and flexibility. This duplex accommodates comfortable living, fully optimizing a slender plot, whether utilized as a standalone single-family home or a partial rental unit.
