Steel Weight Calculator — TMT Bar, Rod & Steel Bar Weight Chart
If you ever need to know how heavy a steel bar or plate is before ordering, this tool makes it quick. The Steel Weight Calculator lets you estimate the total weight from the shape, size, and number of pieces you’re using. You can choose between a TMT bar, flat plate, or hollow tube, then fill in the basic dimensions—diameter, width, thickness, and length—and get the answer instantly.
After choosing the shape, enter your measurements and units (cm, mm, m, or ft). For rods and bars, type the diameter and length; for plates, use thickness, width, and length; and for tubes, include both the outer and inner diameters. Add the quantity if you’re working with more than one piece, then hit Calculate. In a second or two, you’ll see the steel weight in kilograms.
If you make a mistake, just press Reset to clear everything. The numbers shown are estimates based on the standard density of steel, so small variations can happen with different grades or mills. Use this tool as a quick guide for planning or budgeting your steel requirement—it’s practical for workshops, builders, and anyone who deals with steel day-to-day.
